MA course has started...

... And I'm so excited about it. Though I'm not sure if I manage the workload. I usually give myself a lot to do but hopefully I won't be trailing off too much and stay focused.

I finished my BA(Hons) in fine art this year and whilst it is all still fresh, I want to pick up where I stopped in June and go into more depth. I'm looking forward to further develop my sculpting skills in concrete, improve my mould making and finishes. Also, I'd like to explore other materials that help me on my mission to produce a body of work that is stimulating the tactile sense and contribute to relaxation and refocusing in the beholder.

Here I mostly draw inspiration from my own preferences of how a surface should be textured but I also plan to study other individual's opinions to inform my work and gain a more thorough insight in the nature and relationship between haptic stimulation and brain activity.

My forms will be continuously influenced by the imaging of cellular structures and neuronal pathways in our nervous system, the fragility of it, possible damaging through illness and also it's ability to regenerate.

I translate those images into intuitive shapes that represent my thoughts and emotions about the cycle of relapse and remission and I aim to close the circuit that connects the symptoms of disease and the healing properties of haptic stimulation.
